On August 24th, 2023, Nike relaunched the Kobe Brand and gave all hoopers what they had been asking for. The late Kobe Bryant has been a pillar in the basketball community since his tragic death and Nike's decision to resurrect the Kobe brand will help immortalize his legacy even further.
Back in June 2011, the debut of the Italian Camo Kobes marked the arrival of one of the many sleek designs for Bryant's sixth signature shoe. The original pair showcased a mix of colors including Multi-Color, Crimson, Black, and White, drawing inspiration from the uniforms worn by the Italian military. The subtle elegance of the Kobe 6 wasn't the only way the revered Los Angeles Lakers icon paid homage to the land he once called home. However, it's the first tribute speculated to make a comeback following his passing. The modern versions of the sneaker, known as Protro editions, present a slightly altered color scheme of Black/Crimson Bog/Khaki. This tweak might ultimately lead to a distinct iteration of the beloved Italian Camo style. Nevertheless, the announcement of another Kobe 6 Protro has been met with immense enthusiasm from numerous online users. It implies that Donahoe's commitment is well on its way to fulfillment, a fact that has been heartily embraced by the sneaker community.
