Nike announced the LeBron 20 Time Machine with the slogan "From the King to the next generation." During the summer we saw LeBron James and his sons tease the shoes during family basketball runs and it seems like we will finally be able to get our hands on a pair this fall.
Long time fans of the shoe may be shocked to see Nike has switched from the classic high-top to a low-top model something that has yet to be seen on a LeBron signature shoe. Fortunately for hoopers the underfoot cushioning remains in tact along with a loaded Air Zoom Turbo unit on the heel for maximum bounce and support. It seems Nike heard its supporters and is bringing back some its most celebrated tech from previous LeBron models. A Carbon fiber shrink plate was incorporated from the Zoom LeBron 5, and on the outsole the dunk man logo returns after disappearing after the LeBron 16.
Jason Petrie, the senior footwear designer for Men’s Basketball and lead designer of the LeBron line since the Zoom LeBron 7 said in a press release that he took this line seriously with the next generation in mind. He worked with Bronny and Bryce James to discover what the next generation is looking for in a shoe and to embrace what young players were looking for.
The Nike LeBron 20 Time Machine will release in both adult and kids sizing on September 29th 2022 just in time for the holidays. You can find it at select basketball retailers or on the Nike SNKRS app retailing at $200.
