The Nike Book 2 "Eggplant Foamposite" Releases August 2026

Nike is bringing one of basketball's most iconic colorway inspirations to Devin Booker's signature line with the Book 2 "Eggplant Foamposite," a colorway that borrows its identity directly from the legendary Air Foamposite One "Eggplant." The pair first surfaced in the background of an Instagram post from Booker, where it was quickly spotted sitting behind his newly updated Phoenix Suns jersey as he announced his switch from No. 1 to No. 15 in tribute to his father, Melvin Booker. The shoe became the bigger story almost immediately.

This is not the first time Foamposite aesthetics have crossed over onto the Book 2, as Booker previously wore an orange Suns-inspired version of the silhouette. The "Eggplant Foamposite" colorway, however, pulls more directly from the source material. The Book 2's usual layered construction gives way to a molded matte purple shell that covers the mudguard and lace panels, closely replicating the visual language of the original Foamposite One. The connection to Arizona basketball runs deeper than just the colorway, too. Mike Bibby famously debuted the Air Foamposite One while playing for the Arizona Wildcats in 1997, tying the shoe to the same state where Booker built his NBA career with the Suns.
