Back in February 2023, we saw the Nike and BAPE drama unfold. Nike filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement against BAPE claiming BAPE's sneakers "revolves around copying Nike's iconic designs", with BAPE being accused of releasing various copies of the Air Force 1's, Air Jordan 1's, and Dunk lineups as well as other various Trademark Infringement allegations. Nike has ordered BAPE to stop the sales of their shoes as well as request an undisclosed amount of money damages. Now, more than a year later, this case has finally legally settled.
As a result of this settlement, BAPE will have to modify the BAPE STA and SK8 STA silhouettes, and discontinue the BAPE STA Mid, Court STA, and Court STA High line (refer to image below). It'll be interesting to see what BAPE will do to its sneaker lineup as a result of this in the future.
