The Nike Air Max Plus "Black/Illusion Green" Releases Summer 2026

Nike is keeping the dark gradient trend alive with a new Air Max Plus colorway that lets a vibrant green slowly emerge from an otherwise blacked-out upper. The "Black/Illusion Green" build leans into the silhouette's late-1990s running DNA, pairing Tuned Air cushioning with the kind of bold color blocking that made the Air Max Plus one of the most recognizable Air Max models ever produced.

Black mesh forms the base of the upper, with the Air Max Plus's signature wavy TPU cage layered across the sides. Illusion Green fades in through those side panels and across the heel areas, giving the shoe its characteristic glow without abandoning the darker foundation. Glossy black detailing covers the toe cap, Swoosh, and overlay panels, while textured black sections around the mudguard and heel add depth and contrast. The Illusion Green shade also surfaces on the visible Air units, midfoot shank, tongue badge, and select upper hits, tying the accent color throughout the construction. Yellow accents on the outsole and "Tn Air" branding bring a subtle retro touch, nodding to the model's origins. A black midsole houses the Tuned Air cushioning and rounds out the design.
