His creation, the Air Max Link, is described as a "link from Beijing for community to our Future," drawing from multiple chapters of Nike's archive while centering the build around 3D-printed construction.
The silhouette carries some visual similarities to the Air Max 1000 and older Alpha Project designs, though the Air Max Link pushes in its own direction. The midsole rises and curves around the heel, where a layered support piece gives the rear of the shoe a more built-up, structural look. Smooth sections stretch from the heel toward the toe, collar openings add ventilation, and pointed pieces are worked into the upper for a forward-looking aesthetic. Two visible Air units are embedded in the forefoot, keeping cushioning at the core of the AirWorks concept.
The Air Max Link follows a previous AirWorks design by Motoi Hatsuki that surfaced earlier this year.
