The Nike Air Max 90 SP "Black Leather" Releases Fall 2026

Nike is taking the Air Max 90 in a quieter direction for Fall 2026, introducing the SP "Black Leather" as a stripped-back rework of the classic silhouette. Rather than the usual combination of leather, mesh, and plastic overlays that define the standard model, this version favors a mostly leather upper with stitched construction that recalls some of the more restrained NikeLab releases from recent years.

The upper relies on stitching to define the Swoosh, mudguard, and side panels in place of layered materials, keeping the surface noticeably smoother than a traditional Air Max 90. Perforated leather replaces the plastic eyestays along the lacing system, and the same perforated treatment wraps around the heel where the usual Nike Air branding has been removed. A tonal logo sits on the tongue, and black laces blend cleanly into the rest of the upper, reinforcing the minimal approach across every detail. The midsole and outsole carry over the familiar Air Max 90 tooling, with a faint blue tint visible inside the heel Air window while the rest of the sole unit stays black throughout.
