Nike is extending its baseball crossover series with an Air Max 1 built around the San Diego Padres' City Connect alternate identity. The design pulls from the Día de los Muertos tradition that has become central to the Padres' City Connect aesthetic, translating that cultural energy into a lifestyle sneaker that sits comfortably outside the stadium.
The upper works through a layered mix of panels in Dark Obsidian, Coconut Milk, Fireberry, and Magma Orange, giving the shoe a bolder, more expressive finish than a standard Air Max 1 colorway. The most distinctive detail lives on the insoles, where a floral skull graphic draws a direct line to the Día de los Muertos theme. The Padres connection is reinforced through a shaggy suede Swoosh carrying team-style branding alongside an MLB lace lock at the center of the shoe.
The Nike Air Max 1 "San Diego Padres" is set to release on May 29th, 2026 at select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike for a retail price of $150, available in men's sizing. To stay informed on all things Nike and to stay up to date with the latest releases, connect with us on Instagram and Twitter.
