Macklemore is a name that is synonymous with the world of hip hop, but in recent years, he has also made a name for himself in the sneaker community. The rapper recently made headlines when he announced that he would be giving away a pair of his Air Jordan 6 Clay PEs ahead of the release of his new album, Ben.
What makes these sneakers so special is that only 46 pairs of this iteration were put into final production, 23 of which are owned by Macklemore while the other 23 are in possession of Michael Jordan himself. The uppers are predominantly formed with a supple suede material that’s covered in an earthy “Light Redwood” hue, giving the shoes a warm and inviting look. The heel counters and tongues are done up in solid black, which provides a nice contrast to the light redwood color.
The most striking element on the shoes arrives on the lower heels, which come decorated with a shark insignia to call out Macklemore’s Shark Face Gang. The shark is an iconic symbol that represents the rapper’s independent record label, and it is a fitting addition to these shoes. The shark is done up in a metallic silver color that really pops against the black heel counter.
One lucky fan will have the chance to win a pair. Between now and March 20 fans who pre-save and share his album Ben will have a chance to acquire a set.
