The Air Jordan 4 "Comic" Releases July 2026

Jordan Brand is tapping into early Michael Jordan lore with the Air Jordan 4 "Comic," a colorway drawn directly from MJ's 1985 Nike Dunk T-shirt. That original shirt depicted Jordan mid-dunk in bold comic-book artwork, and the shoe translates that same energy through sharp illustrated details, vibrant color gradients, and a vintage first-edition aesthetic. A matching T-shirt is also said to be returning alongside the shoe, recreating the original clothing set.

The upper is built primarily on off-white leather, letting the louder design elements carry the visual weight. A soft gradient of yellow, orange, and pink runs through the mesh netting beneath the side panels and tongue, echoing the color palette of the vintage tee without overwhelming the silhouette. Near the eyelets and heel, the comic-book references become more direct. The top wing eyelet features pink spiked shapes resembling action bursts or speech bubbles lifted straight from a comic panel, while a touch of red accents the lower wing eyelet near the lace row. Black support wings and heel tabs anchor the bolder pops back to the familiar Jordan 4 structure.

On the tongue, a pink Jumpman logo rendered with a subtle gradient sketch sits above "Flight" lettering. The heel's Nike Air branding gets a dotted comic-print overlay with a vibrant gradient fill, reinforcing the first-edition comic feel rather than standard retro treatment. Below, the midsole layers black, cream, and pink sections with prominent Air cushioning, while an aged cream section adds a worn, vintage quality. A pink outsole, white laces, and an off-white interior complete the build from top to bottom.
