The Air Jordan 3 "Laser" Releases August 2026

Jordan Brand is reaching back into one of its most celebrated design eras with the Air Jordan 3 "Laser," a new release that brings Mark Smith's signature laser-etching technique to the classic silhouette. The project draws a direct line to a one-of-one pair created for Michael Jordan's 40th birthday in 2003, with that rare player-exclusive build appearing to have laid the groundwork for this wider release. Jayson Tatum previewed the shoe during a Jordan Brand summer tour stop in London, offering the first public look at the finished design.

An off-white leather upper serves as the canvas for a dense collection of personal references tied to Michael Jordan's life and career. Among the etched details is the "M AIR J" license plate from Jordan's black Ferrari 512 TR, a car he was frequently seen driving during the Chicago Bulls' championship run in the early 1990s. The upper also features a nod to Nike twins Eric and Chad Sandy, rendered as "Sandy Bros." in a tribute to two figures who have worked closely with Jordan Brand over the years. Their names previously appeared on the receipt tucked inside the "Lost and Found" Air Jordan 1. A golf cart and the iconic "23" gate from Jordan's former estate near Chicago round out the layered artwork. Brown suede covers the toe and heel, metallic silver eyelets add contrast around the lacing system, and Nike Air branding anchors the heel.
